One judges seat is already filled for Season 9 of America’s Got Talent! On Tuesday, Howard Stern confirmed that he’ll be returning for Season 9, although it’s likely to be his last go-around on the show.
“It started out as a good,” he admitted on his Sirius XM radio show. “Now it’s becoming a job. I am very excited to go back to America’s Got Talent. I will go back [for] one more season.”
However, the decision didn’t come easy. “I really, really did struggle with this decision, because I have been working for a long time,” he explained. “I really wanted to decide if this was going to take away too much free time. Did I really still enjoy doing it? Did I have something to say? Is it something I should be involved with still?”
In the end, his desire to be the center of attention took precedent. “I decided I needed a personal life, but that big black hole in me that demands attention…it won,” he joked.
In 2012′s Season 7, Howard joined the show, replacing Piers Morgan. He stayed on in 2013, where he was joined by fellow vetHowie Mandel, as well as newbies Heidi Klum and Melanie “Mel B.” Brown. Although he wasn’t able to confirm if those three will be returning, Nick Cannon has previously revealed that he will be coming back to host.
