Less than nine years after Jennifer Hudson appeared on American Idol, the talented singer has received one of Hollywood’s biggest honors. On Wednesday, she attended the ceremony for her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
.Showing off her new pixie cut and slim figure in a white dress, Jennifer proudly accepted the commemorative plaque. “Just got my star on the #WalkOfFame!! Such an honor,” she captioned a photo.
On Season 3 of American Idol, the future star surprisingly came in 7th place, although she was a favorite all season long. It didn’t stop her, though, and in 2007, she won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Oscars for her role in Dreamgirls. She’s also won a Grammy.
“This is an amazing honor as we all know, and I did not see this coming,” she said during the ceremony. “I’m so honored to be here with so many that I love and I feel as though we’re all family.”
